On April 15, 2025, my exhibition titled "In Their Place" opened at the National Gallery – The Palace in Sofia, Bulgaria. The project was conducted in Belene Prison and started in October 2023, concluding in November 2024. It has been my journey into a territory I knew nothing about and certainly feared. But I didn't want my knowledge to be limited to what I heard or saw in films. I wanted to see with my own eyes and hear with my own ears. And since not everyone has the opportunity to get close to people who have gone far beyond the limits of the permissible, I lend my eyes. This project gave me a different perspective. I do not impose it on anyone. But I have a viewpoint, and it is important for me to express it. Because expressing a viewpoint is a freedom that no one can take away from us. The catalog includes all the photographs that were displayed in the National Gallery.
The catalog accompanies the exhibitions of the "In Their Place" project, which were held at Belene Prison from January 27, 2025, to January 27, 2026, and at the National Gallery/The Palace from April 15, 2025, to June 1, 2025.
